Steinkjer
Trøndelag/Trööndelage · Norway
Sitting where the Steinkjerelva river meets the Trondheimsfjorden in Trøndelag, Steinkjer is a little Norwegian county seat with a compact centre of cafés and restaurants along the waterfront. The town is divided into two traditional neighbourhoods — Nordsia and Sørsia — by the river, and both Steinkjer Church and Egge Church are found here. The E6 highway and the Nordlandsbanen railway line pass through, making it a practical base for the surrounding mountain terrain.
