A pocket-sized Styrian wine-country town in Austria's Deutschlandsberg district, Stainz is associated with Schilcher wine and anchored by Schloss Stainz, a former monastery complex now owned by the Counts of Meran and housing collections from the Universalmuseum Joanneum. The town has a good spread of cafés and restaurants for its size, along with several historic churches.
