Solca
Romania
This little town in Suceava County, northeastern Romania, Solca sits on the river that gave it its name — derived from a Slavic word for salt, reflecting the area's salty springs. Once a spa destination known for its air quality, it was also home to a brewery founded in 1810 that produced the Solca beer brand until 2004. The wider Bukovina region holds UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the town has a 19th-century old town hall, a mixed school built in 1820, and a Roman Catholic church from 1860.
