Sittard
Netherlands
A walkable town in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, Sittard has a heritage-dense centre thick with listed buildings, historic churches, and cafés. One of the oldest settlements in the Netherlands, it received city rights in 1243 — the third oldest in the province after Maastricht and Roermond. The centre sits close to the German border, with the hilly South Limburg landscape and several UNESCO World Heritage sites within reach in the wider region.
