A fishing town on the north shore of Lake Kariba in Zambia's Southern Province, Sinazongwe is built around the kapenta fishing industry and sits within walking distance of the lake, with mountains visible from town. Ferries run from here to Chete Island, a lighthouse marks the waterfront, and a houseboat operation offers stays on the lake itself. Founded in the 1950s as an administrative centre, the town is reached by tar road from Batoka.
