Sitting alongside the Baspa River in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district, Sangla is the main town of the Baspa Valley — sometimes called the Sangla Valley — close to the Tibetan border. It serves as the administrative centre of its tehsil and draws independent travellers into one of the high Himalayan valleys of northern India.
