Samar
Ukraine
A riverside town in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Samar sits on the Samara River — a tributary of the Dnieper — and serves as a tourist and recreational centre for the surrounding region. Its natural setting includes the Samar Forest, the Samar wetlands, and the Samar Bay, while the 18th-century Trinity Cathedral and the St. Nicholas Samar Monastery preserve traces of the area's Zaporozhian Cossack past. The town was renamed from Novomoskovsk in 2024.
