Saint-Sever

France

Known since at least the late Middle Ages as "Cap de Gascogne" — the head of Gascony — Saint-Sever is a small historic town in the Landes department of southwestern France, with scenic viewpoints in the surrounding countryside. It served as a sous-préfecture from 1790 to 1926 and today acts as the seat of the Chalosse Tursan community of communes, a role that reflects its long-standing position as the leading settlement of this part of the region.
