Saint-Quentin

A photogenic town in northern France's Aisne department with a walkable centre and a dense food-and-drink scene, Saint-Quentin sits on the Somme river and traces its origins to the Roman settlement of Augusta Veromanduorum. It takes its name from Saint Quentin of Amiens, said to have been martyred here in the 3rd century, and served as the seat of the County of Vermandois from the 10th century onward.
