Sagar
Sagar · India
Highland city on a spur of the Vindhya Range in Madhya Pradesh, Sagar is home to the oldest university in the state — founded in 1946 by Sir Harisingh Gaur and now a Central University — as well as the headquarters of the Indian Army's Mahar Regiment and the Jawaharlal Nehru Police Academy. The city sits at elevation with a walkable centre and a lake within reach, and has drawn enough independent traveller interest to earn a Wikivoyage entry.
