Rurrenabaque
Bolivia
This gateway town on the Beni River in Bolivia's Amazon Basin, Rurrenabaque — known locally as "Rurre" — sits close to Madidi National Park and the Pampas del Yacuma, making it one of Bolivia's most visited destinations after the Salar de Uyuni and Copacabana. National Geographic listed it among the world's top twenty tourist destinations in 2011, and it received a World Travel Award for Best Green Destination in 2019. A small central core offers cafés and restaurants for travellers passing through.
