Ruacana

Angola

Ruacana, on the Angolan side of the Kunene River border with Namibia, sits close to the Ruacana Falls — one of Africa's largest waterfalls by flow and width, with a main drop of around 120 metres and a spread of some 700 metres during the rainy season. A hydroelectric dam built in the 1970s sits immediately upstream. The town also serves as a district capital within the Omusati Region.
