This Pahang town sits in a valley between the Titiwangsa Range to the west and Gunung Benom to the east, making it a base for exploring mountain terrain in the interior of peninsular Malaysia. One of the oldest towns in Pahang, Raub serves as the administrative centre of its district and lies within reach of water, with Kuala Lumpur a few hours' drive to the southwest.
