A compact coffee-country town in Colombia's Quindío department, Quimbaya sits within the Coffee Cultural Landscape UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 2011. Its centre holds a concentration of cafés and restaurants, and the town takes its name from the Quimbaya, the pre-Columbian civilization that once inhabited this part of western Colombia. Armenia, the departmental capital, lies a short drive to the southeast.
