This working port town at the southern tip of Chiloé Island, Quellón sits where the Panamerican Highway ends at the Pacific — a terminus marked by a plaque and monument at Punta de Lapas just outside town. Ferries connect it to Patagonian settlements to the south, and the waterfront centre has cafés and restaurants alongside a fishing and aquaculture industry that defines daily life here. The wider Chiloé region holds UNESCO World Heritage sites.
