Puerto Barrios

Guatemala's main Caribbean port, Puerto Barrios sits on the Bahía de Amatique in the Gulf of Honduras and serves as the departmental seat of Izabal. The city's population is a mix of Garifuna, Maya, and Afro-Caribbean communities, and nearby Livingston offers Garifuna cultural traditions including Punta and Yankunu dances.
