The capital of Ecuador's Galápagos Province, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno sits on the southwestern coast of San Cristóbal, the archipelago's easternmost island, with a waterfront that has grown into a hub of hotels, restaurants, and shops alongside the town's traditional fishing economy. The Galápagos National Park's Centro de Interpretación, established in 1988, and a natural history museum make it a practical base for exploring the islands, with San Cristóbal Airport connecting the town to mainland Ecuador.
