This modest seaport town on Calabria's Costa degli Dei, Pizzo sits on a steep cliff above the Gulf of Saint Euphemia and is locally known for its gelato tradition and the tartufo di Pizzo, a chocolate-and-hazelnut ice cream specialty. The waterfront setting, a good spread of cafés and restaurants for a town its size, and several historic churches make it a well-rounded stop on this stretch of the southern Italian coast.
