Masurian town in northern Poland set at the point where Lake Roś meets the Pisa River, Pisz sits at the heart of the Great Masurian Lakes region and is surrounded by the Piska Forest. Formerly known as Jańsbork and in German as Johannisburg, it serves as the seat of Pisz County and makes a practical base for exploring one of Poland's most lake-dense landscapes.
