A pocket-sized village just south of Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, Wales, Penparcau sits between Tan y Bwlch beach, the River Ystwyth, and the River Rheidol, with the Celtic Iron Age hill fort of Pen Dinas rising above it. The Wales Coast Path crosses the beach, and the area falls within the only UNESCO Biosphere reserve in the Dyfi Biosphere. The village holds an unusual concentration of places of worship, including an Anglican church, a Roman Catholic church housing a Lampedusa Cross, two Methodist chapels, and a Quaker meeting house.
