A mountain border town in Myanmar's Kayin State, Payathonzu sits at the Three Pagodas Pass separating it from the Thai township of Nong Lu. The town lies on the historic Burma Railway and serves as a crossing point between Myanmar and Thailand's Kanchanaburi province.
