Panaji

Goa's riverside capital sits along the Mandovi estuary with a walkable centre of terraced streets, red-tiled roofs, and a seven-kilometre promenade. The baroque Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church overlooks the main square, and the historic Latin Quarter occupies the eastern end of town. A dense food-and-drink scene fills the centre, and the wider region holds UNESCO World Heritage sites.
