Ōshū, a city in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, is known for its Maesawa Beef, a regional wagyu brand, and for Fujiwara no Sato, a theme park and film lot built around the 12th-century Northern Fujiwara clan. Historic temples and shrines are spread across the city, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites. Ōshū is also the hometown of baseball player Shohei Ohtani.
