Ontinyent

This walkable town on the banks of the Clarià River in Valencia's Vall d'Albaida comarca, Ontinyent has a centre with cafés and restaurants alongside baroque churches, aristocratic mansions, remnants of city walls, the palace of the Dukes of Almodóvar, and a 16th-century bridge. The surrounding area is wine-growing country, and the Serra de Mariola Natural Park lies close by. The town has historically produced cloth, paper, brandy, furniture, and earthenware.
