Old Bennington

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984, Old Bennington is a small Vermont hamlet whose historic district preserves a notable concentration of Revolutionary War-era homes. The centerpieces are the Old First Church, built in 1806 and restored in 1937, and the Bennington Battle Monument. One of the earliest settlements in Vermont, the district is roughly bounded by Monument Avenue, West Road, and Elm Street.
