An agricultural city in Miranda State, northern Venezuela, known for its year-round sunshine, low humidity, and mild temperatures — a climate that supports cocoa, coffee, and sugar cane farming across the surrounding Tuy Valley. Ocumare del Tuy served as the capital of Miranda State from 1904 to 1928 and sits a short drive from Caracas, with mountains nearby and walking-distance access to water. The wider region includes a UNESCO World Heritage site.
