Nungwi
Tanzania
A beach town at the northern tip of Unguja island in the Zanzibar archipelago, Nungwi has grown since around 2000 into one of the island's main tourism centres. The peninsula setting puts visitors directly on the water, and the town has developed a lively food-and-drink scene within a walkable area. It sits roughly an hour's drive from Zanzibar's Stone Town.
