This town in Campania's Salerno province with a walkable centre dense with historic churches and a lively food-and-drink scene, Nocera Inferiore sits at the foot of Monte Albino within the Monti Lattari regional park. Its history stretches back to Etruscan origins, and Cicero counted it among Campania's principal cities. The town has held a diocesan seat since the 3rd century and lies within a wider region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
