Türkiye Nevsehir

Nevşehir

Nevsehir · Türkiye

The provincial capital of Cappadocia in central Türkiye, Nevşehir sits at the gateway to the region's UNESCO-listed landscape of fairy chimneys, rock-hewn churches, and underground cities — including a vast underground city discovered beneath the city centre itself in 2015. The grand vizier Damat İbrahim Paşa, a leading figure of the Ottoman Tulip Era, was born here and oversaw the construction of hans, mosques, and bathhouses that still shape the city. Nevşehir has traditionally produced carpets and wine, and the centre offers a walkable café and restaurant scene.
