Sitting high in the Sierra de Montánchez above the plains of Extremadura, this pocket-sized Spanish village is one of the country's main centres for jamón ibérico production and also makes wine from nearby vineyards. Its elevated position has earned it the nickname "the balcony of Extremadura." Several historic churches and a small cluster of cafés and restaurants round out what the village offers.
