Monroe
Ouachita Parish · United States
A Louisiana city on the Ouachita River with a concentration of historic churches and a streetscape that draws regular visitor photography, Monroe is also the unlikely birthplace of Delta Air Lines, which began as a crop-dusting operation called Delta Dusters in nearby Tallulah before establishing its headquarters here. The University of Louisiana at Monroe has anchored the city since 1931, and West Monroe sits just across the river.
