This city in eastern Belarus with a centre dense with historic churches, Mogilev sits on the Dnieper River and serves as the regional capital of Mogilev Oblast. The third-largest city in Belarus, it lies roughly two hundred kilometres from Minsk and functions as a rail and road hub connecting several major Belarusian cities.
