Miechow

Poland

The collegiate basilica of the Holy Sepulchre dominates the skyline of this small town in Lesser Poland, its tower topped by a globe-shaped spire symbolising the Earth and, since 2006, a figure of the Risen Christ. Miechów lies on the Miechówka river roughly north of Kraków, with rail connections on the main Kraków–Warsaw line. The town was historically the seat of the Holy Sepulchre monastic order in Poland.
