A compact mountain village in southern Lozère where the Jonte river runs through the centre, Meyrueis sits within the Cévennes and is flanked by the gorges of the Jonte and the Tarn — terrain that draws scenic viewpoints and a strong photographic character. For its size, it supports a real cluster of cafés and restaurants, and three Natura 2000 protected zones surround it, including the Jonte gorges and the broader Cévennes landscape.
