This modest town on the Equatorial Guinean coast where the Mbini (formerly Benito) river meets the sea, its estuary stretching wide at the mouth. Known as Río Benito during the colonial period, Mbini has a port and a ferry connection across the river to Bolondo, from where travellers can continue to Bata. It serves as the administrative seat of its district on the mainland region's central coast.
