Malyn

Ukraine

This Ukrainian town on the Irsha river in the wooded Polesia region, Malyn sits roughly a hundred kilometres northwest of Kyiv. The city is known for its paper factory — a sheet of paper appears on its coat of arms — and hosts a seismic monitoring station that forms part of the international network verifying the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
