Mahone Bay
Mahone Bay · Canada
A small waterfront town on Nova Scotia's South Shore, Mahone Bay is known for its photogenic streetscape of historic churches and sits near a UNESCO World Heritage site in the wider Lunenburg County region. The bay itself takes its name from the pirate vessels — mahonnes — that sheltered here in the 16th and 17th centuries. A handful of cafés and restaurants serve the town, which has also developed a reputation as a base for entrepreneurs and small business startups.
