Maccagno

Small lakeside village on Lake Maggiore in Lombardy's Varese province, Maccagno has a notable concentration of churches and cafés for its size, along with scenic viewpoints over the water. Part of the village carries a history spanning close to a millennium as a near-autonomous legal entity — an unusual civic identity for a settlement this little. It now forms the historic centre of the merged municipality of Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca.
