Los Toldos
General Viamonte · Argentina
Los Toldos, a tiny town in Buenos Aires Province, is best known as the birthplace of Eva Perón, born here in 1919. The town grew from a Mapuche settlement established by the leader Ignacio Coliqueo in the second half of the 19th century, and an Indigenous Mapuche colony remains today. A tiny central core offers cafés and restaurants, and water is within walking distance.
