Founded in 1861 as Pueblo de la Paz, Lomas de Zamora is a city in the southwest of Greater Buenos Aires with a walkable centre and a dense café and restaurant scene. Known locally as "Lomas," it sits a short distance south of central Buenos Aires and serves as the capital of its partido, renamed to its current form in 1910.
