This small Welsh hamlet in Montgomeryshire, Powys, set on a hill within a bend of the River Banwy, with mountain terrain rising around it. The Parish Church of St. Cynyw, a Grade II* listed building dating from between 1450 and 1500, anchors the settlement. Nearby are Pentre Camp, an Iron Age hillfort, and Mathrafal, the historic seat of the kings of Powys.
