Lipari
Messina · Italy
The largest of the seven Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea off northern Sicily, Lipari is the main gateway to the archipelago and the administrative centre for six of the islands, including Stromboli, Vulcano, and Panarea. The town sits right on the water in volcanic mountain terrain, with vineyards nearby and a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size. The wider Aeolian Islands are a UNESCO World Heritage site.
