This pocket-sized Idaho resort town on the Portneuf River draws visitors to its natural hot springs, which feed pools suited for bathing, and to a turbulent inner tube run through part of town. Set in a mountain valley along the historic route of the Oregon Trail and California Trail, Lava Hot Springs sits in eastern Bannock County, part of the Pocatello metropolitan area.
