Laugar is a small Icelandic village that grew up around thermal springs — its name means "hot springs" in Icelandic — on the Diamond Circle tourist route in the Northeastern Region. It sits on the Reykjadalsá river in mountain terrain, with the Goðafoss waterfall a short drive to the west and Lake Mývatn not far to the southeast. The Ring Road passes through, making it a practical base for exploring this stretch of northern Iceland.
