A walkable Breton town on the river with a centre full of cafés and restaurants, Lannion sits in the Côtes-d'Armor department of northwestern France and serves as the capital of the Trégor region. The current commune was formed in 1961 through the merger of several surrounding villages, and some listed heritage architecture survives in the area.
