Lake George
United States
Compact village in the Adirondack mountains of New York, right on the lake that shares its name, with a concentration of cafés, restaurants, and scenic viewpoints that outpaces its size. A 1909–1911 Mediterranean Revival train station — built by the Delaware and Hudson Railway and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 — survives as a landmark, though rail service ended in 1958.
