A Mediterranean coastal town on Spain's Costa Blanca with a walkable centre full of cafés and restaurants, La Vila Joiosa — whose name translates as "The Joyful Town" — sits on the water in the province of Alicante. The town has a long fishing tradition and today is also known for its chocolate industry, alongside tourism. It serves as the historic and administrative capital of the Marina Baixa region.
