A small town on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan's Jeti-Oguz district, Kyzyl-Suu (formerly Pokrovka until 1993) sits at the foot of the Teskei Ala-Too mountains along the Chong Kyzyl-Suu river. The town is home to a research station of the Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences focused on the physical geography of the Tian Shan, and was the birthplace of Soviet Hero A. A. Titov.
