A small Victorian town in the Macedon Ranges with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size, Kyneton sits among vineyards and within reach of mountain scenery. Piper Street preserves much of its original 19th-century streetscape, making it the most historically intact of the town's three main streets. A rail connection runs to Melbourne, roughly an hour away.
