Koktebel
Ukraine
A Black Sea resort village in southeastern Crimea, between Feodosiya and Sudak, with an unusual concentration of cafés and restaurants for its size and a wine-country setting backed by mountains. Koktebel is also known for its literary history: the Russian poet Maximilian Voloshin made it his home, drawing distinguished guests including Marina Tsvetayeva, Osip Mandelshtam, and Andrey Bely. The village has been under Russian occupation since March 2014.
